Bezruchka books on trekking in Nepal, travel medicine and altitude illness

Stephen Bezruchka wrote the first trekking guide to Nepal after spending a year there in 1969-70.  It was first published in 1972 and the eight edition, with co-author Alonzo Lyons, will appear in 2011.  It has sold several hundred thousand copies, received outstanding reviews and been translated into German and Italian.

He produced Nepali for Trekkers as a very successful audio language guide for visitors there.

His Pocket Doctor:  A Passport to Healthy Travel debuted in 1987 as a carry-along guide.  It is in its third edition and has sold well over a hundred thousand copies.












Bezruchka's Altitude Illness:  Prevention and Treatment appeared in 1994 and the second edition has been translated into Spanish.
